imageSomeday I’ll live on an organic farm in upstate New York or Spain or somewhere with the man I love, making a family and happily getting fat off the meals we cook from what we grow. But while I am still a city girl—running wild around town, too lazy to cook anything at home besides eggs over-easy and a toasted bialy—I have to go out to get my farm-fresh fix. And as much as I love biting into a whole peach or having corn on the cob, I want more than just to eat the local produce. I like the taste of food best when someone has played with it a little bit, hands-on food given enough thought and care so as not to be over prepared, leaving the ingredients to showcase themselves.

Jason and Joe Denton, along with co-owner and executive chef Eric Kleinman, manage the daunting task of ensuring the extraordinary quality of dozens of cheeses, cured meats, and hundreds of bottles of wine.The Denton brothers, relatives of San Francisco nightlife king Harry Denton, have spent the greater part of the last decade bringing their passion for Italian café dining to hungry Manhattanites. The Idaho natives collaborated to give us ‘ino in Greenwich Village, which Jason opened with his wife Jennifer in 1998 after being inspired by a panini bar they discovered in Monterosso on the Italian Riviera.
